The restructuring of the port of Gothenburg, to form a new port authority and three operating companies, in order to increase profitability, has been completed. Port chairman Sven Hulterström said the restructuring had gone well and interest in running the three business units has been shown by operators. He said the objective is now to secure the transfer of operations as quickly as possible. There is no set deadline for completion, however. The external operators will purchase the right to use the quays and terminals at the port, while the new port authority will continue to own the land and the infrastructure.
