Romania's national railway axes 10,300 jobs 08. März 2010

The Romanian government has made 4,000 out of its 78,000 workers redundant at the state-owned railway CFR. Another 6,300 jobs are to be axed in April. The railfreight division CFR Marfa is shedding a total of 6,700 jobs. The volume of freight hauled by rail shrank by around 50% in Romania last year.
